It's actually paradoxical. AOC rails about inequality and income disparity, that poorer people can't afford the same things as more wealthy residents. Yet here she is actively preventing stores like walmart or large liquor stores with economies of scale that would actually save people money and provide them with more discretionary income.
This specific large liquor store would be in college point where you need to drive to get to. The people buying liquor at the corner store aren't even the people that are going to go there
At the end of the day, the customer will decide. You can forget about small or big business. The customer will speak with their money on what they want.
It's nice to see AOC finally concentrating on her district and not immigration, climate change, Trump Impeachment, etc.
AOC is so worried about those Mom-n-Pop liquor stores now. Just wait until all her upper-crusty college buddies decide to gentrify Flushing/C.P. and all of a sudden they price those people out with their artisinal, free-range, CBD infused, soy free, gluten free cookie and tea shoppes. Then it will be those evil old people trying to push liquor on the children.
Business comes in all shapes and sizes pal.
When I was growing up that's all there was.
Mom and Pop shops. No Walmarts,CVS,Stop&Shop.
That all changed years ago with or without Looney AOC

Obviously Total can leverage their connections and so forth to get better prices, which are passed along to consumers.
Every GD time from fighting Walmart on down NY politicians cloak themselves with mantle of "sticking up for the little guy" while we all get reamed by paying higher prices.
Tend to get my booze outside of city when in NJ shopping anyway, that or make pit stop on way back from SI. College Point having a "big" liquor store is no more of a threat than Costco in Spanish Harlem is to Yorkville Wines and Liquors.
Trader Joe’s wine store on 14th street sells the cheapest wine around but progressives LOVE Trader Joe’s. I wonder how many M&Ps disappeared from that area. If TJs isn’t a big corporate interest then what is?
