Opinion:

The mafia came very close at knocking on the back door of Government in the 30's.
Nobody was going to give that up anytime soon. The government will stop
at nothing to protect their pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and don't you forget it!
They will go full assault on any crime enterprise........

Now if their having problems in Palermo, how good do you think things are in NY/NJ/USA?

Not saying they've completely gone, but the idealized world some of you believe exits isn't any longer.

Remember that scene from Sopranos where Christoper is reduced to jacking and busting open parking meters for money to kick upstairs?
According to many, the basic philosophy is alive and well in Trump territory.

Yeh, History Channel during its heyday use to do docus about the various crime syndicates. That Falcone explosion happened a while ago.

The Mafia, N'Drangheta, Camorra, are still around in Italy. They deal drugs and such. They just aint as brazen anymore.

Well of course the mob still prevalent in southern Italy and Sicily where it was originated , whoever thinks it would be dead there is foolish . Just not as bad as before but I read a article few years ago that said many business still pay for protection . I think most people are referring to the United States when they say itís dead , and it isnít dead here either but most of the mob stuff is supposed to be organized and low key anyway we are not supposed to know unless something big happened . I know a old mobster got killed in McDonaldís drive thru this year in the Bronx . Hits right out in public like that is something you donít see much anymore but itís crazy

Am here to tell you the Albanian mob is nothing you want to mess with; they don't have that code of honor like Italians. Women, children, whatever everything is on the table when it comes to hits and or collateral damage.

The Sopranos were always going on about the Russians, when in fact even that mob is tame compared to Albanians. In general however you want to avoid Eastern European mafia of any sort period.
