Actually, speaking as a now retired teacher, it makes sense. The kids, if they even show up, will be absolutely nuts. The day will be made up later.

I don't have a problem with this. As NBP mentioned, that Monday would be a wash for the most part anyway.

I don’t have a problem with this either, the less traffic before a huge holiday, the better.

Give them the whole month off!

H#LL NO! Its bad enough kids have off for summer. I hate no school days. Let them be in school 365!

Glad someone finally woke up. When I looked at the original calendar for the year and saw that schools would be open on a Monday then closed for the rest of the week I couldn't believe they made such a stupid decision.
