Neighborhoods change over time. On SI many of the 'old school' people are selling for top dollar to nice quiet hard-working Chinese-American families. That's a natural change unlike the 'white flight' of the 1960s and 1970s which was a reaction to the decay and crime brought into previously stable areas by the new minority residents. Controversial to say but sadly true. deBlasio can't be happy about the growth of the Asian-American population. More and more they vote like the conservative 'old school' folks whose homes they bought.

Same reason people are fleeing the entire state
High taxes, high tolls, unfriendly business regulations, anti gun laws, special interests have to much power ( see Ramapo, NY.... Palm Tree, NY). Yet you have a governor that acknowledges the mass exodus and blames it on the weather....
A non-stop cry for money from corrupt useless politicians that don’t solve anything. Cuomo, DeBlasio, Schumer, Gillibrand, NYC Council, Heastie, Letitia James,etc...)
Don’t forget the above named scumbag’s predecessors ( too many to list, many are serving prison time or did)
No area is perfect, but it is better then NYS unfortunately.

I’ve eaten deer too. And squirrel and rabbit.
We will probably have wild boar in NY soon. Rumors are around that we already have some. I just saw some in NC last week while hunting deer.
They have been leaving for decades now. They have been going into NJ, LI, Westchester. And now people in those places are moving out of state.
People want new opportunities, greener pastures, cheaper living.
