Are there any websites with short term flats for rent in New York City? I was planning to come next summer for 2-3 months holidays but I can only find some expensive luxury apartaments. So do you know any websites with normal short term flats to rent?

Surely you have tried these 2 ?

https://www.airbnb.com/

https://www.vrbo.com/

Even this one has some 30 day minimum short =term listings

https://www.padmapper.com/apartments...ase-term=short

BTW, nothing in NYC will be "cheap".

One of the best sites for that - by the way, we call them "apartments" here - is Craigslist. It is likely to be cheaper because there are no fee for individuals. However, because NYC is a complicated market, you should stay at a hotel for a few days to give yourself a chance to look in person. Don't sign up for anything sight unseen.

You should understand that you would most probably be looking for a furnished sublet, but there are various kinds - sublet of a co-op apartment, sublet of a condo, etc. So ask a lot of questions, and make sure everything is legal. You might get lucky subletting an apartment of someone in college (or teaching college) who is away for the summer.
