Rudy Rodriguez Santos, has rap sheet with *fourteen* arrests, but no convictions if am reading media sources correctly.

But this story just gets more bizarre and confusing each hour.

Family lives in a Bronx apartment, and they threw Mr. Santos to the curb because "something wasn't right with his mind". If am understanding things correctly the guy as a son who the mother (of the kid or Mrs. Santos?) sent to DR because of Rudy Santos mental condition.

After family kicked Rudy S. out, he moved into an abandoned place: https://nypost.com/2019/10/06/chinat...neighbors-say/

Area residents saw the kid, and it was clear he wasn't "right" in head, and often spaced out on drugs as well.

People in this thread are blaming city residents, Mark Zuckerberg and other wealthy people, but bottom line is even the Santos family didn't bother getting help for a kid who as clearly a sandwich short of a picnic basket.

Holy moly, maybe that's why that odd rock cropping with trees always gives me the creeps.

Sick right? The 2nd Amendment as written is free and was intended to solve any issues with violent vagrants.

Unfair competition? hah!

Bezos is a capitalist genius, I assure you the competition was fair - he just happens to have been the best competitor.

And by "taking advantage" of of fellow citizens surely you mean "selling to them whatever they want at the lowest price almost always delivered the very next day"

All I know is this city isn't getting another GD penny from me if have anything to say on matter.

That some kind of wife of BdeB was given nearly *one billion* tax dollars for "ThriveNYC". Obviously that money went down a rat hole (or into someone's back pocket), because it certainly hasn't done much or anything for mentally unstable homeless.

Yet eegits continue to defend Sam the Eagle and his missus. Then again those that benefited from shake down of those who earn loved Juan and Eva Peron among others. Long as the money keeps rolling in and a bit of it is thrown their way, what's not to like?

Why surprised? The homeless have long preyed on one another, the strong on the weak.

Most of them are alcoholics, druggies, and/or mentally ill. Not the sort of people to practice gentlemenly behavior, even among themselves.

Santos was homeless because his mother threw him out on streets as she was "afraid" of his increasingly mental behavior. That and he was violent towards family members, stealing, on drugs, etc...

If she had bothered to reach out to various city agencies maybe the guy would have been put away for a bit thus preventing four murders.

Whose to say she didnt ? You would think it's easy to get help, but it's not. I have seen it with neighbors who had a child who was aggressive to her parents. The child was over 18, the police can be called but if they are not a threat to themselves or others they can't be taken for evaluation. If she got him thrown out of her home age would have gone to the City and got the Marshall to evict him or got an order of protection. Mental hospitals needed to be downsized, but what happened years ago, was the infrastructure of mental hospitals for people who have often ended up homeless has been eliminated The US has an epidemic of mental illness. Look at the suicide rates among our servicemen in the military, police, teenagers. Then the violence of mass shooters but also rampant depression, anxiety, border line personality, bipolar, and schizophrenia. Drug abuse is often people self medicating. The stigma of getting treatment is still very high. People die as a result
