Singles and the Big City... (bars, place, attractive)

I moved to NYC about 5 month ago (Chelsea) and been reading following this forum ever since. This is my first post here however...
I was wondering if any of you can recommend a good place to meet single people here in NYC? (bars, clubs, etc).
I've been seeing lots of posts on almostconnected.com mentioning the Blue Owl, is this a good place?
