And that blanket statement is a perfect example of what’s wrong. The far left (and NO I do not count myself among them) does not “hate Israel,” but they do have serious issues with the way the government operates and unfortunately the behavior of too many of the far left (and the far right) makes it impossible for anyone to hear what valid points each side may have because of the flying rhetoric.
Some people on the far left do hate Israel. Yes, there's definitely brutality in the way Israel operates. But were they not brutal they would have been killed off by the Arabs. Israel is only in existence because of centuries of persecution in Europe nearly wiped out the Jewish population. The Inquisition, many pogroms, and then the Holocaust. All of this is never mentioned by the far left at ALL.
With that said quite clearly there are right-wing anti-Semites as well.
Friends of mine who are Jewish are now saying all Jews should take martial arts and purchase guns for self defense.

Those being effected by a high majority of these attacks are primarily the very religious who are primarily pacifists. The criminals in the US know this. One can simply look at their Israeli counterparts as most of them will not join the Israeli army and nearly all of their protests are non-violent.

Everyone in Israel joins the army and Israelis are not pacificists. If Hasidim had the training of Israelis things would be pretty different.
It looks like the Shomrim do work in conjunction with the police. Obviously policing alone is not effective, or else we would not be discussing this matter.

This is due to that this issue is being looked at with blinders on, thinking that it's just hate for Jews. The reality is that as Hasidic families are usually large, their children have become adults. So as one community grows another community shrinks. Thus as the Hasidic community grows, they get a larger share of city/state funding and programs as they move into low income areas/housing. It's a cycle the repeats itself every few generations as the demographics of each neighborhood changes. One could look at Brownsville in the 1950's and see that at one time it had a vibrant Jewish community and now it doesn't. Or one could look at Canarsie upwards of the early 1990's when it had a vibrant Jewish & Italian community and now it doesn't either.
This is being discussed now it's a younger generation that is missing being educated on past sociological changes not being known, the ripple effect happening slower and gentrification of some communities in NYC. The ripple effect is supposed to be growth where each generation moves up and out. Many of the Hasidim have joined the ranks of minorities where they are doing generation after generation of doing lateral moves as they expand into low income areas/housing in NJ and Upstate NY.

Less than 2000 Hasidim/Haredim in Israel join the IDF per year due to a religious study exemption law which allows them to study the Torah. They age out of the enlistment requirement At 27.
