Places CAN be found. When we left NYC last spring we had a one bedroom pre-war in Jackson Heights for 1575 and it was about 1000 square feet, good building, close to all the Long Island trains At the jackson Heights/Broadway station. It takes some searching and a little bit of luck and our commute to Grand central was 20 minutes (actually about 17 if there were no delays). And now we're talking about moving back, we're doing the same sort of search. And we know that reasonable places are available.
