Moving to Brooklyn
We are likely to be moving to NYC from london and are thinking about Brooklyn as my husband will need to commute to Wall Street area.
We're looking for an area with lots of Stay at home mums as I won't have a work permit, lots for children to do and good schools as we have a 5 and 2 year old.
We'd need a 3 bedroom place at least. I'm thinking of areas around Park Slope and Brooklyn Heights and Cobble Hill but don't know if there are many young families there.
Thanks

Sometimes it seems that ONLY families are permitted to live in Park Slope and Brooklyn Heights...check some of the threads here. What is your budget?

Oooh good, that would work for us. We're being relocated by my husbands work which is a bank and they will give us relocation as we'll be holding onto our london home. I guess probably about $4000 a month.

Park Slope offers the quintessential affluent urban family lifestyle.
You asked for lots stay at home "mums" and children's activities and Park Slope offers those amenities.
If you can afford it - and it seems like you can -, and you are into that type of culture - think organic baby food and $700 strollers - you will enjoy it.
PS: I don't mean that negatively - I believe everyone should live the lifestyle they choose.

I'm into lots of things but certainly not $700 strollers or organic baby food! We can only afford it because we're being relocated by my husbands work and I'll only be staying at home because I won't have a work permit.

Carroll Park is nice also in my opinion, a bit less "yuppie" if you consider that a bad thing.
