No one is picking on anyone. But to come on to the NY forum and make a blanket statement regarding race, police manipulation of the law, authority issues and God complexes deserves some questioning. You also happened to have based your BIG generalizations on your ex-husband...HUH?
Where is your data? What can you cite?
Have a blessed day!

Yet again, another generalization.
I'm a cop?
Well, you SUPPOSEDLY were in the academy, so you must have been screened as bad enough attitude to be accepted! LOL
And, God bless you for putting up with your ex, who must have also had a bad attitude, authority issues, God complex, and racial issues.
Have a blessed day!

You have twisted my words ( which is typical) and now you're demanding facts from me, so typical !
No, I gave my freakin opinion, that's all it is, I don't have to prove anything to you.
So, you have a wonderful life and be safe out there !

Once again, I'm a cop?
I CITED every word you used...see? Research.
That is a VERY strong opinion in regards to race and corruption without anything to back it up.
Have a blessed day!

Bb,
I've just read through your posts. You haven't said too many positive things about Police Officers and you continue with your insults of them. You said that you would have no choice but to call them if a crime was being committed against you. The question is, why would you then put so much trust into these people feeling the way you do about them?

Getting worked up makes me a cop?
Keep it up with your FABULOUS research and blanket statements. Why did the LAPD let a winner like you go? You're a gem!
Ooh, you cited me?
You must have been worked up, sweetie!
Have a blessed day!

My ex is law enforcement (for 25 years) and according to him, cops are just as corrupt as anyone else out there, and they definitely do practice racial profiling. The only difference is that they know how to manipulate the law in their favor when need be. And in this case, it looks like it worked perfectly.

West coast law enforcement is a whole lot different from east coast law enforcement. There was no cover up. What everyone seems not to be able to accept is that while this was a tragic situation for all, it was not criminal. The court didn't condone what the cops did. The court simply said that it didn't amount to a crime. Why is that so hard to understand?

I never said I would trust them. I have NO CHOICE but to use the police. If I take matters into my own hands, I'm pretty sure I would be put in jail. And besides, they are suppose to "protect and serve" the public, and I am the public. If there was an alternative to the police force, I would use it. But currently there isn't none.
I don't like traffic, but I still drive.
I don't like dressing up in business attire for work, but I still go to work.
I don't like paying taxes, but I still pay taxes.
You see where I'm going here? I don't like those above things, yet I still have to deal with them. I may not like the police, but I still have to deal with them.

Not all cops are bad...
It seems to me that this thread was kinda hijacked, lol.
The way I see it. Detective Michael Oliver fired 31 shots. The other 19, were between the 2 other officers Detectives Gescard F. Isnora, and Marc Cooper.
31 shot. You need to reload. So during the reloading, he hadn't noticed the other 2 officers weren't shooting, and then started firing again? I can understand shooting. But not 31 times, when you aren't being shot at.
But then again... I wasn't there... And I wasn't in their shoes...
Can anyone tell me what you would have done?
