Hello
I am living in the city for the past 8 years and found a good job in Orange County nY. I do like living in the city, but seems that I might need to relocate there. I would like some place close to the city not too country and easy commute to NYC. also really don't want to move to a boring place since I am single. I would like to be able to enjoy shopping, going to fitness club .Any suggestions on where will be a good place to live and safe? Rockland vs Middletown or other? ![]() |

Have you thought about Warwick, NY its a quite little town, taxes are a little high, and the commute can be a little touchy in the winter. I'd stir away from Middletown, NY just from what I've heard and read. Suffern is also nice check it out and see which area you prefer, good luck

lol...your gonna hate it up there....well, i did. after whiteplains there isnt much. Have you heard of Poughkepsie? Beacon/Newburgh are some others up there but I'd choose Middletown or Poughkepsie over them. Beacon bieng the last. About a hour and half drive from NYC.

dgomez Warwick isn't for you. If you use to the city life and you don't want to be bored look somewhere else. Only because your single. Warwick is really a nice place but sorry to say this is the country bro.lol...Like I said it is beautiful but you really would do better if you had kids here. Stay away from middletown and newburgh. I always go back to the city to get my sanity back after being here to long.My boys love it though.Well good luck....

Orange County has a lot to offer, if you look. A lot of outdoor activities, and quaint villages, it may not be in the fast lane but...NYC, Albany, and White Plains are all within 1 1/2 drive. New Paltz is not bad for a visit. I love it here and the convience.

Going from NYC to Orange County is rough because of the VASTLY different scenery. I went there once and my eyes hurt from all the fat chicks there. |
