I paid for my private school education and I see no reason to run up the national debt to support private universities, many with gargantuan endowments. Also guaranteeing bad bank loans got us in deep doo-doo before.
A national debt of approx. $30 trillion is quite enough on the credit card. Time to start paying it down with progressive taxation, instead of the regressive system we have now.
Also, jobs should stop requesting college degrees for all jobs. There are certain jobs that require a college degree and others that experience can be a substitute for it.
Please.. If you want you debt cancelled then I want money given to me for free so I can go to school.
Seriously when are people going to take accountability for their financials. I guess our politicians set a bad example. They are always getting bailed out. So people grow up thinking they can spend any amount of money on anything without a worry because they will get bailed out later on.
Loan forgiveness mostly helps well off people. I paid off my loans of 10k about 20years ago. Anybody care to do the math assuming 7% gains per year? Once that check clears I'll be all for helping mostly priveledged white and asian liberals in their quest for student loan forgiveness.
Better idea: no more government loans for college.

My thoughts exactly..of course that would actually require some sacrifice on the part of many of the college-bound.
