That was a great website...in Mott Haven..looks like the crime rate is steady from last year...no big decrease...but more importantly no big increase...and I think that speaks volumes. In fact...murder is down as of this time last year...and down exponentially from 5, 10, 20 years ago...of course.
So Mott Haven is holding crime at 2007 levels which is the lowest it has been in about 40 years, and it even has a lower murder rate as compared to this time last year. That's an amazing sign....what's the update on everyone else? (your precincts that is).
One more thing...the crime that is registering the highest gains this year, as compared to last year..is Grand Theft Auto (car theft)..thats up 50% as compared to this time last year..from 40 to about 60.

People are playing the GTA videogame too much...lol...
I was looking at precinct 46 and was like wow there have been 6 murders in the precinct already this year, but then I saw that in 1990 there were 82 murders alone in the 46th.
Murder up 100% and rape up 600% and fel assault is up from 2007 in the 28th precinct, everything else down. Good to know the criminals in my area prefer to commit the more horrendous crimes.
Rudbeckia..its not nearly as bad as those percentages make it sound. The reality is that crime is actually downfrom this time last year in your precinct, although murder is up from 1 last year to 2 this year (which makes for 100% increase), and 1 rape last year to 7 this year so far (600% increase). The percentages make the numbers seem worse than they are....this is an unwelcome uptick though.
