Default New York Family Vacation

Planning a family vacation to New York. Planning on taking in all the attractions and Yankee's game. I would like to stay on the New Jersey side. Where would be a good place to stay? Also hoping not to drive.

The Hyatt Jersey City is literally right next to the PATH train that will bring you into Manhattan. You can usually bid for a pretty rate there though Priceline and the hotel is lovely. Check out some of the auction advice sites like Better Bidding to find out how to make the best offers if you aren't familiar with the system. My grandma likes to stay at the Embassy Suites in Secaucus because there is a free shuttle, but I don't think that it's as convenient.

What's your budget? How much are you willing to spend/night in the hotel and if your budget won't bear staying in Manhattan, would you be willing to stay in NJ?
