This guy means business. The results of his efforts are really bearing fruit with how much he's cleaned the city up of crime these past few months!

Keep up the GREAT work Mayor Adams...so BRAVE!

I have...

There's been much MORE gun violence, and violence in general, since he's taken office.

And it's not even summer yet!!!

Does summer weather trigger more violence? And if so, why?

There was a shooting outside the gates of Queens College a few nights ago. Street shootings are happening in previously safe neighborhoods.

He's a clown. New Yorkers should be ashamed of themselves for putting this buffoon in Gracie Mansion. What a disgrace.

It's a commonly held belief. I'm not sociologist/criminologist, but many in those fields (however you may feel about those fields) have data that indicates that there is a positive correlation between an increase in temperature and an increase in crime.

Why?

1) More people outside- More chances for interactions that lead to incidents (e.g. more people out, more opportunities for muggings to occur)

2) Heat- When it's very hot out, it can make people reactive, impulsive, and irritable

3) Summer Vacation For School kids -This one isn't a commonly held belief about why it happens, but my own hypothesis that having so many teenagers off from school gives them a chance to roam around and get into trouble. This is especially true for teens in low-income areas that are prone to crime and gang activity.
