I'm moving to NY soon to work/go to grad school through nyctf. I'll either be going to CUNY grad college or Hunter college, and I'll be working in the Bronx.
Any suggestions where I should look for an apartment? and just how hellish is my commute going to be?

thanks
the commute won't be bad depending on the part of the bronx you plan on working in. the problem is that the area there can be bad
To better answer your question, will you be going to school first or work? If you are going to work first, what area in the Bronx is your job at?
Just off the top of my head, if you are going to school first (Hunter or CUNY Grad School) and you are plannning on living in the Bronx, you would want to be on the 4, 5 or 6 line for a straight commute. If you don't want to live in the Bronx, the next best bet for a decent commute might be Astoria, Queens since you can catch the train to 59th Street and then change over to the Lexington Ave lines.
