Who wants to get sick over and over again? I got sick three times last year, which is a lot as I never used to get sick that often. Do you really want me to bump that number up for this year? I just recovered from Covid not too long ago. I would prefer not to get it again this month.
Getting sick over and over again is the nature of colds, especially while in college and living in dorms. What's the big deal?
When we thought "Novel Coronavirus" was some death ray, you take extraordinary actions. Those should be short term, drastic and limited in time.
People complain they didn't want to stay home in 2020 in the early days of the pandemic. So why would I want to continuously stay home because I am constantly getting sick?? Because that is what I had to do a couple of times over the summer and during Christmas. Not because I wanted to, but because I was feeling like complete crap that I had to stay home in bed to recover.
I think simple measures like wearing a mask for a short period of time in crowded indoor settings is far less convenient than being sick at home in bed for weeks.
Not to mention that it's actually very unhealthy to get sick so frequently. Once in a while, it's ok. But when it's happening so often, it's not good!
Wise shopper, Do the small, easy to do stuff like wear a mask when shopping, Avoid big crowds at long events like theaters, movies, etc.
Do what you can to keep your immune system robust” exercise, good nutrition, Vitamin D supplementation.
Avoid people who are showing signs of illness.

Did you mean to say ”far less INconvenient.”
Like the last line in Candide "We do the best we know."

Whoops, yeah that's what I meant. Apparently, the time has lapsed and I can't edit it and fix it. Sorry.
Don't forget, you can get covid particles in your eyes, so if you are wearing a mask and get covid anyway, it might be because you aren't wearing any eye protection, so don't blame it on the N95! Someone posted awhile back that people who wear masks, eyeglasses, and hats when they go out are unlikely to get covid.
Another thing I forgot to add on this is that a face shield is also GREAT to wear in addition to a KN95 face mask. I'm actually surprised I don't see more people wearing them.
Yes as has been said everyone will get this head cold, some even with more sniffles than normal, at the same time. Some very elderly and infirm may die (just like with any cold/flu when your immune system is crap).
My parents are over 70 yo and both have a ton of health issues, yet it was a bad head cold for about a week and they are both back at the casino tonight.

I think you are addicted to being worried.
Again I say, I got Covid last month and have experienced it firsthand. It is NOT just sniffles and a head cold. Ok? Please stop downplaying it.
Even more reason you shouldnt worry, you have fresh antibodies.
