To the OP, here is what I suggest. Get a friend and ride the 3 train from wherever you are all the way to the last stop which will be new lots. Along the way you will see graffiti in the subway tunnels, you will see a lot of graffiti when you exit the tunnel right after utica.
As your taking the 3 train, you will pass Brownsville which will be the Junius and Rockaways exit. You will see the projects that people talk off. If your into graffiti you may also see some graffiti on the roof tops. As you continue on your adventure, when you get off at New Lots have a bite at the pizzeria (neighborhood joint and not bad for pizza). Then walk along Ashford until you hit Linden Blvd., whatever you do dont go into the projects but just look at them. You can walk west towards Pennsylvania and see all the housings.
Just word of advice, go early in the daytime, personally I wouldnt want to go during the summer time, all the kids are out and thats when things start "popping off". Mind your business, dont stare at anyone, things will be fine.
I grew up in ENY, not everyone is a thief or a murderer, but you will see why the area can be so depressing. Most residents there think that the life they live is the norm.
Anyways enjoy.

Ok people don't need to be dicks to me, just cause I'm not your average tourist and I want to see something that most people don't see doesn't make me an idiot. So to all who are mocking me just shut the hell up. To all those who are being cool and actually helping me out thank you to you guys just not to the ones who think they need to laugh at this crap, you guys are immature and should have just stayed out of this topic.

Brooklyn projects are wack. They're all concentrated in one area. The Bronx has the same number of projects and they're spread throughout. Meaning you have more chnces of seeing projects in the Bronx than you do in Brooklyn.
Of course Manhattan has the most projects.
Where the hell is Edgemere located?
