Hi!

A friend and I are moving to NYC from DC this August. She's going to be a law student at Brooklyn Law school in Brooklyn Heights, I'm currently looking for a job there. So far most of my interviews have been in midtown, so that's probably where I'll end up working. We're looking for a two bedroom in the $2000 price range.

We both grew up in NY, her in Westchester I in Long Island, (haven't lived there for 10 years) so neither of us really know all that much about Brooklyn neighborhoods. Any suggestions on where to find something in our price range with a decent commute to both midtown and brooklyn heights?

Thanks!

If you can find a place in Carroll Gardens or Boerum Hill that would be ideal. Park Slope would also be good and if not, you can try Prospect Heights. Seems like a lot of people move into what was considered the Jewish Hospital. I have never been inside there and there seems to have been some issues with the buildings but from what I have read online, the management company is taking care of those issues.

Brooklyn Law School has subsidized housing. It's around half of what it would cost in the area. You should take advantage of it.
