Thanks so much. I love to see other neighborhoods from the residents' perspectives.

Thanks Seventh.

Today I was on Rockaway Beach. Some of the streets I remembered where from B80-B91......and the Hammels Homes were there nearby too. Was I in Far Rockaway?

Also What were those large fancy project looking buildings that lined the boardwalk? Where these Co-Ops or were they also projects?

The area around Hammels looks rough. Everybody there was black. The commute was terrible from Uni Heights to Far Rock (if it was)....ughh like 2 hours. Which included a transfer at Broad Channel.

You were in the Hammels, which the projects takes its name from, part of the Rockaway Beach neighborhood. You were no where near Far Rockaway. That's all the way at the end, bordering LI. If you were to stay on the A all the way to the last stop, then you would have landed in Far Rock.

The buildings near the beach are not projects, but Mitchell-Lamas(I think).

you were in rockaway beach, which is from beach 74th to beach 98th. the buildings along the boardwalk are dayton towers, which are mitchell-lamas. hammels is mostly black but there's been some spanish people that moved in last year in a few of the buildings.
