Meandthecity....yeah I thought that was funny also. Its just poor marketing....not a big deal. The place is new and certianly not perfect.....if you are looking for reasons to hate/not like it..there are plenty...if you are open to try new places that are trying to change/improve the area by offering a unique (for the area) amenity and environment...then this is one of them. Bad marketing does not change the quality of the place or the food..but if you are looking for a reason to knock it...that's fine.

it's hardly bad marketing, the image of a hoochie gal probably appeals to many in the area, the sushi places job is to attract people to their shop, if a pic of a hoochie gal does that, then it is a good job. They are not in business to alter anyone's attitudes, they just want to sell a lot of sushi

Using scantily clad women to sell things is used all over the place. It has hardly anything to do with the area...
They need to improve the website though...
BTW I just saw the flyer again, well the one on the website at least. It's pretty tame. LMAO at the hoochie mama comment. Coming from a female poster no less...

Hehe...yeah well you know how people are NYer....no matter what they will always find the one problem/imperfection and harp on that..and ignore all else. That is the nature of people...to complain, criticize, and otherwise whine....whilst they sit back and do..nothing!
If the biggest complaint is hoochie momma flyers...I would say they are a phenomenal success. Nonetheless...I think they need to retool their website..which they of course know...they are working on it as we speak. The flyers..although tame.....don't really go with the image they are promoting in the place IMO. They probably just had soemthing done and went with it ....for now it'll do.

Well yeah going off the pics you provided Guy and looking at the menu, although they were low quality pics, I could see the place is aiming for more of a young professional crowd. So yeah, personally if I were in charge of the marketing for the place I would have not used flyers like that...
But apparently they are aiming for a party crowd as well. The place is a lounge right?

It is set up so that it can be a bar, lounge, restaurant, or even a club for that matter..so they are covering all their bases...which I think is a wise and profitable strategy. However, they just need to be more target specific with their marketing, and use flyers like these for specific events, and not everyday marketing.
I see it as a lounge that offers sushi...and that is how I will use it!

LOL I wasn't knocking it just thought it interesting that I have NEVER seen Sushi being marketed like that..even hole in the wall places in NYC. First time for everything I suppose..
But I am glad your options are improving.. Waiting to see the Thai hoochies Wonder if they'll call the place Happy Ending?
