Hunts Point one of the highest crime rates in all of New York.

The city is trying to clean up the place but there is still alot of prostitutes there especially around Southern Blvd. and 163 st.

Hunts Point has some of the worst crime rates around New York.

I would recommend moving to Parkchester where you can actually get a nice condo/apartment for a good price and a nicer area and better bus and train service.

Although Parkchester is a nice area, I prefer Hunts Point since it is closer to Manhattan and I have a choice over subways (Parkchester only has the 6 nearby while Hunts Point/Longwood have the 2/5 and 6 lines).

Default MottHavenDude's Bronx Photos

Here are a few of MHD's great photos of the brownstones in his area (some in great shape and some just begging to be renovated) I will let MHD describe where these were taken - and what the newer building is - 2nd to last photo. (Is that a new set of condo's?)

(And I will post the other photos a bit later)

MHD, it took a little longer than I thought to download these - I will post the other sets of photos (Longwood and the amazing new construction going on in Melrose, etc) when I get back home later this weekend. Thanks for providing these, they really show not only what is going on in your area, but also about the amazing possibilities for those who know what a good opportunity is when it's staring them in the face. If I didn't love my Parkchester condo so much- I would love to buy one of these places and restore them to their former glory!

Thanks...the buildings are great...love them...and one of these blocks is the one I live on. The larger building is a loft condo development called the Bronx Bricks....they were selling for $395,000-$795,000 and all but 1 were sold as of today. Go Mott Haven!

With the coming of this new gentrification wave,Do you think they'll try to knock those Old style buildings down, and put up luxary apartments instead? Man..I hope not. Those bulidings make up alot of the "soul" the city has.

Just got back from spending 5 hours in Mott Haven! Had a great time. Brunch at Alexander's, drinks at Bruckner Bar & Grill and Sweetwaters, pedicure on 138th street, met tons of people and tooks lots of pictures as I walked for hours around the different blocks. Not sure exactly where I always was but I ended up and turned around a little past St. Mary's Park (gorgeous). MHD, is that still Mott Haven?? Also, I was also told that an editor of the NY Times and a president of one of the colleges or universities just bought into the Bronx Bricks. So, not too shabby Mott Haven!!
