Default Moving to NYC from Europe

I know there are always millions of these threads but I was wondering if there were people here who had managed to do this? I spent a few months in NYC last year but I was on a student visa which I can no longer obtain. I would love to have stayed and have spent the last year wishing I was back there. While I was there, I met tons of Europeans in all kinds of jobs from waitress to financial services. How did they all get in? Some of them won the green card lottery but they can't all have, and they can't all have gotten transferred by a company. Is there any way I can realistically move to NYC? I'm not looking for a Sex and the City lifestyle, just to make enough to be fairly comfortable. I have a degree in modern languages and some hospitality and tourism experience. Where would I start?

Start with your US Embassy. Many of these people, without documentation, were working here illegally. You risk being banned from the US for the rest of your life if caught doing that.
