Default Innapropraite actions by participants in gay pride parade

My (female) friend who lives in NYC went to this parade with her friends and was telling me how she saw certain lewd acts being done by gay men.... exposing themselves, and sexual conduct between 2+ gay men...

I am not gonna get into the detail, but you can imagine.

Why is this allowed to be done, but the firemen cant drink a beer before the St. Patricks day parade?

Its not right

They are a protected class. They can do whatever they want and claim discrimination if anyone attempts to limit their behavior.

lol. seriously. I have gay friends...but don't say that people single you out when you ask for special rights and then act like a bunch of freaks on the streets.

Well, I definitely don't think it's right.. but just to point out, it's not allowed for cops or firemen to drink beer on-duty because if a situation arises, their coordination might be impaired, and that won't be helpful to anyone.

I agree. It seems when I see anything on a gay pride event, they are really acting over the top gay. I mean, straight people don't make out when we have a regular 4th of July parade. Why must they act that way? Nothing against gay people, but tone it down a notch when you are in public!

We drove into Manhatten on sunday not knowing it was gay pride day. We had our two boys with us ; 8 & 9. Now we have nothing against gay people at all ; one of our sons godparents is gay. But I thought it was a bit much. Some of the way people were dressed was really really not on. We did walk around a bit in the village as our fav place to dine was there.
While 99% of the people were fine, that 1% no matter what the group always has to push the limit a little more. I didnt see any strange actions, but really we dont need to see short short speedos, or thongs on men or string shirts worn by women.

Not being a prude or anything,

d

Gay Pride is no different from Mardi Gras. If you don't want to see body parts, stay away from both.
