Bronx or queens??
I'm looking for some advice. I will be going to medical school in harlem, while my girlfriend will be working in white plains ... where would be the safest easiest commute for us both? I was really set on astoria but the commute to white plains is a bit much ... Im trying to keep my travel time around 20 minutes....
thanks!

Doesn't City College have a pre-med? Is that what he's referring to?
And, your easiest commute absolutely would be from the Bronx.

He said he was going to medical school. There's a big difference between fulfilling pre-medical requirements (which can be done anywhere) and medical school.

I've never heard of any medical school in Harlem. Columbia med school is not in Harlem if that is what you are talking about. Either way the Bronx is the best bet geographically speaking safety would have to be queens. But quality of life wise, Queens wins hands down. Overall you are going to have to come up with more money and live in Manhattan to have a safe and quick commute.

No commute from Queens is 20 minutes to Harlem, as much as I'd recommend living here.

why don't you make it easy on your girlfriend and live in white plains, and you take metro-north to harlem?
