Yea, the masturbation and sexual things just out in broad daylight and public are the worst.

Is it true that there are people who live on the trains/subways in NY? THAT would freak me out.

Although its not the subway, two years ago I was on a packed bus heading towards Jamaica, Queens and people were smoking weed in the back, the bus was stinking, after about 5 miles of inhaling drugs the bus driver took the bus out of service and everyone was forced to walk about 7/8 blocks to the nearest bus stop, this happened more than once. Luckily it was like June and it was in the 80's.

Also I've seen someone strip on a bus, someone get stomped out in the back staircase of a bus, this crazy guy who raps very loud. All were in Jamaica, Queens.

I always happen to hear about bizarre bus rides through Jamaica. I teach in Jamaica, so I'm kinda glad I drive instead of taking the bus. I wouldn't want to experience the things I've heard, lol.

Just a few stories from the wild and crazy 80's and early 90's:

Young dude getting robbed for his Air Jordan's on the Dollar Van that runs down Guy Brewer and being forced to walk barefoot in the snow home.

Riding the B12 down ENY Ave and some goons jump off the bus and proceed to open fire on a group of kids standing in front of the housing projects in broad day light while the bus is standing there at a red light.

Knife point robbery attempted on the A train in Far Rockaway, chain and pendant hits the floor, I got the chain he got the pendant before jumping off (5 deep) at the next stop

Decepticons gang rush through the 2 train in BK taxing all sherling and 8 ball coats as well as 'doorknockers' (big female earrings)

Homeless man taking a shower totally naked on the F train platform complete with water bucket, soap and sponge singing 'no woman no cry' by Bob Marley haha, crazy

- saw (quite obviously a junkie) take a poop on the A/C platform in brooklyn (she was wearing a bunch of old sweater and had no pants....no skirt. nothing. like she had been walking around bottomless)
- guy smoking a joint on a crowded J train in broad daylight
- a woman....pleasuring her boyfriend/husband/whoever on the E train in the middle of the night

i've definitely seen the guy who raps really loud. he's usually riding buses like the 5/77/85/27/4, right? i'm assuming such a "unique" individual must be one of a kind.
and in middle school we rode a special route Q5 and a gang of kids would beat someone up every day in the back of the bus. once a kid got pushed out the back door and another time my next-door neighbor got his ear cut off.

On an A train ride a while back, after a female crack head fought some guy and some religious freaks kept harmonizing the word "Jesus" for about 45 minutes. I saw something strange yet admirable. Two homeless people got on, did the usual and got everyone's attention for a performance. I'm thinking "oh god, these fools are about to embarass themselves." Before I knew it they were doing all kinds of flips and acrobatic stuff, like the "human wheel", all without falling or bumping into anybody in a crowded train car on the shaky A-train express. That ride is so rough you can't even keep a good posture on that train, and here are a couple of bums performing like its cirque de soliel! They got my donation.

Craziest person - I sat right next to a a perfectly normal looking guy who I noticed was reading a book filled with only a jumbled nonsense word typed over and over and over again. He turned the page and it was another page of the same word over and over. Then he started feverishly scratching his temple and then shot a stare over a me. I thought of Stephen King's The Shining, and then I had a panic attack.

One time on my way home from work I was tempted to get off at 34th st and shop a little. Being on a tight budget I toyed with the idea in my head from 5th ave all the way down to 34th. when the doors opened at 34th there were police standing around a pool of blood. And I heard someone say "oh not again, thats the second time this month" so I took it as a sign that I should save my money...

Waiting for the 1 train at I saw a homeless guy passed out on the platform and a cockroach crawled into his mouth. He didn't even wake up. That was very disturbing.
