Default advice on w173rd st and haven ave.

saw a potential good apt for rental at w173rd st and haven ave. it's an unfurnished 3br apt, it costs about 2600/mo with the broker fee (exc. utilities). i have little idea about the price in that area, do you guys think this is a good deal? and any advice on the neighborhood? is it safe, any grocery stores around? thanks!

Actually, it is. I lived the that neighborhood during medical school. Not the greatest, but 3BR - that's good. Be certain to take a good look at it and walk around the neighborhood.

Not a ton of 3br apartments out there so its hard to compare but off the top of my head it seems like a good deal. Wash Heights is relatively safe especially considering how densely populated it is. Plenty of bodegas (grocery stores) and supermarkets around. Haven is a small avenue but If I remember correctly its by St Nick. which tends to be a very busy loud part of that neighborhood. Overall, Wash Heights is loud and ghetto but not dangerous and whether you like it depends on your tolerance for such things.

Haven Avenue is West of Broadway. And West of Fort Washington Avenue. It's actually very quiet!

Okay I might have been confusing it with another avenue. Wadsworth probably. Thanks! Yeah your right, because now that I think about it I've been around there, around the hospital and its very quiet and nice actually.

Yes, Haven is close to the park and Riverside Drive, and is away from the main areas of noise in the area. I feel perfectly safe driving through that area at night, and I cannot say that I feel the same for other nearby areas.
