Buying Condo in Queens ???? (middle-class, condos, co-ops)

Hi just needed some feedback on what areas of Queens would be a good place to buy a condo ?

Also, what following areas would be a good choice between these and why:

College Point, Flushing, Bayside and Fresh Meadow or Whitestone..



No interests in any schools for kids but just some local shopping areas...

Those are probably the best hoods to raise kids in, but shopping is lacking. One sububanish shopping center each in Fresh Meadows, Bay Terrace, and College Point, and then there's downtown Flushing. There's a Kohl's here and a Target there, Macy's Here and Toys R Us there, etc. Any time my girlfriend or I actually want to buy something we hop on the 88 bus to Queens Center Mall. Aside from downtown Flushing, there isn't really much of a difference between the neighborhoods you listed aside from personal preference, they're grouped together under the "northeastern Queens" banner. There's a kind of crummy area smushed between Flushing and College Point, around the DMV and Whitestone Lanes, you'd know it if you saw it, but that's it for bad areas.

thanks...looking for something descent and not to loud or noisy..and close to the throggs neck or whitestone bridges.. Is that northern area in Queens a mixed class...etc..??

Condos tend to be in new construction and quite expensive. Co-ops are cheaper and much more plentiful. Something to think about.

That's Whitestone. Typically more affluent closer to the bridges in the Beechhust and Malba sections, but the farther from the water the more middle-classish you get.

Yeah i thought about that as well.. there are some dis/advan..to both.. I'm in that in that decision making process right now.. but again thanks for the insight.
