I didn't say that New York mafia families haven't worked with the Camorra or the 'ndrangheta. I spoke only of the term Cosa Nostra, which is explicitly Sicilian, and is used to differentiate between the Sicilian mafia and other "mafias". Heck, there are even other (smaller) mafias within Sicily, like the Stidda, which can't be confused with Cosa Nostra.

having grown up in canarsie in the 1970's mob influence was everywhere.

gefkins bar, bamboo lounge, the flatlands ave junk yards were all tied in from what i remember.

i remember the FBI set up a phoney christmas trees for sale thing from a truck opposie gefkins on flatlands ave . they were actually spying on gefkins.

got enough intel to know a big mob meeting was going to take place in a junk yard on flatlands and ralph ave.

they fed the guard dogs drugged meat ,went in and bugged the trailers the night before .

lots of arrests from that bust.
