When I visited the NYPD museum in 2001, it was at 25 Broadway at Bowling Green. A few months later it moved to 2 Old Slip not far from the old location.

I visited there to see the restored 1972 Plymouth Fury police cruiser which was used by the NYPD that year(it could be seen in the 1971 movie The Talking of Pelham flipping over outside the subway station that the cops were rushing to).

My question is how on earth did they get that car into the museum which was on the 2nd floor of an office building?

Someone told me maybe they first brought the parts in the museum then built it in the museum. If so OK, but then what did they do when the museum moved to the other location?
