Staten Island is looked down upon because it has a large working class population. There are many working class whites with thick working class accents, there are many garbage men, pizzeria owners and mechanics among their ranks. It is not a place for transient white collar college educated office workers to fit in.
While you will look racist and uneducated to look down upon lower or working class Blacks or Hispanics it will cost you no diversity points to look down with complete disdain at the working class residents of Staten Island. You have the green light to trash Staten Island and its residents at any time.
Very good and accurate observation. SI has a lot of Italians and a lot of Catholics, two groups that the Politically Correct LOVE to put down.
So much for all their BS about tolerance and diversity.
Dont play yourself. Wu tang is the best thing about staten island as far as pop culture. They represent ya. Without them people wouldnt even know it existed, including people from the other boroughs so fall back. What else is known in staten island thats relevant?
they should build up the area so much that they have to make the existing subway line connect to manhattan and make 1-2 more lines connecting to long island and manhattan
I dunno staten just has Wu Tang... Long Island on the other hand... lots of great old school stuff... Public Enemy, De La soul, Busta Rhymes, Eric B. and Rakim, EPMD... I say LI wins in this category haha.

Wu tang does not represents the majority of Staten Islanders, but a very miniscule part of it. If you want to know what represents Staten Islanders, read page 4, #39 post of this segment. We want to be represented by history, literature, museums, good people, and good neighbors, with family values, and we have all of that and more!!!!! I would rather have Ricky Schroeder and Christina Aguilera, both born here, to reprent me, that Wuuuuuuuu tangggggg!
