The police were already trying to blatantly lie and cover it up to begin with...no a good foot to start on.

Well what concerns me is this: -The cops CLEARLY and BLATANTLY lied in the court papers, claiming the biker rammed the officer and the officer fell to the ground and sustained injury. What does the video tape show? The officer CLEARLY targeting this biker, charging towards the biker about 15 feet, and ramming him off the bike linebacker style, with the officer never for a moment even losing his balance, let alone "falling to the ground and sustaining injury." So my question to you is, how do you expect the NYPD to tell the truth when the fact remains that the videotape clearly showed he knowingly and purposefully falsified court papers yet they are still defending his actions, essentially saying "it's okay to lie in court papers/do/say whatever you want regardless of the law b/c we are gonna back you no matter what." What is really scary/sad is....what if there was no videotape at all? We cannot even remotely fathom how often cops are doing this because there are no videotapes....and at the end of the day..without the videotape..this kid is just another guy who would have had his good name and life ruined due to the corrupt police force. Terrifying indeed.

You're basing your whole argument on a few seconds of videotape and some report of what the court deposition says. Neither you nor I know the whole story, since we weren't there and haven't read the actual court documents. Why don't we wait until the investigation is concluded before we jump to conclusions.

I have not heard a thing about it..nor have I heard a thing about those 2 thug cop chicks that attacked the guy with his car door open....clearly what we have here is a perverse culture in the NYPD....and as I stated before, until that dysfunctional culture changes, from the top down, we will be hearing about these atrocities (and not hearing about most of them unfortunately) forever.

Here is a very sad article about the whole critical mass situation: Basically, they state "Bicyclists beats rap" as if he even did anything!!! What rap exactly did he beat?!!! And even sadder, the cops "are still investigating rookie cop Patrick Pogan." What exactly are they investigating? How much pull his Father has? Whether the story he, his Father, and the union are crafting will be believable to the public? How to get him out of falsifying court documents? Truly sad indeed. Bashed bicyclist beats rap

Completely agreed. It is quite unfortunate. Thank you for having common sense and using our brain! Glad there are some of us that still do it! :O)

Wow, that's awful..after all this time? I can't believe that those awful 30 seconds actually take so much investigating...especially with such hard evidence. The NYPD is completely jacked up. I swear.

Just read in the Daily News that the judge threw out the case against the cyclist.
