I wish people would not come on these boards and say such ignorant things about neighborhoods that they supposedly know. Have you ever actually been to Jackson Heights besides walking down one of the TWO blocks (out of a hundred) that happen to have Indian stores on them?

And what is "freakin" India supposed to mean, anyway?

Jackson Heights is Hispanic, not Indian. Next time you make comments about it, step off 74th street.

Astoria is definitely the best place in Queens. VERY close to Manhattan, there are trains, buses, highways close by. Lots of trendy restaurants, bars, cafes, etc. It's a safe neighborhood. Pricey though. =/

OH GOD. My fiance LIVES in Jackson Heights...get your guys panties out of a bunch. And it is flippin' Indian...and yes..there are a TON of hispanics as well. IT IS WHAT IT IS. It's a pretty good neighborhood though. Middle Village is definitely better...just not as convenient.
Next time you play this "oh people are so ignorant" role, make sure you have your facts straight. I live there half the week, I think I would know!
Take care now!

NOPE! LOL.

Now, if you are going to make this board into a racial debate I suggest you go elsewhere . If you can't deal with people giving facts on here without making it into something else then you shouldn't be reading others comments.

When people call something Little Italy or Chinatown do you see anyone freaking out? Absolutely not. They call those places that due to the dense populations of those groups. I believe Jackson Heights is nicknamed Little India as well.

Gain some knowledge. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

A part of Jackson Heights has a dense Indian population. But Jackson Heights goes beyond 74th St. and it has many other ethnicities.

Page should have also included this fact as well instead of saying "its freakin India"

Actually I really like it when people come on here to give facts. But when they give "facts" that's when I have a problem.

Can you figure out the difference between these two statements?

1. Jackson Heights has an area that is considered "Little India"
2. Jackson Heights is freakin' India.

Do I need to remind you which statement is yours?
