Local all the way to the airport, which is pretty absurd since the route shares Astoria Blvd. with the Q19. It should run non-stop to the airport from the Triboro.

yes, especially since it's a manhattan bus and is meant for the airport in queens it's odd that it would stop locally in queens

i would imagine it should be called MQ60 instead

I misread the original post, for some reason I thought the OP said the 6, not the 1. Definitely better to get on at the beginning, but that is one loooong ride.

We shouldn't hold our breaths, because who knows whether any of us will live to see it happen, but there is a proposal on the boards to extend the N train from the current terminal at Ditmars Boulevard in Astoria and run it to LaGuardia Airport. Maybe if enough people started bombarding MTA with support for the idea, it might get a little higher priority.

I'd happily approve of that.. even though I live right next to the airport; I'm always a fan of trains that run straight to and from airports! If the MTA implemented this, there would be plenty of people coming off from flights going straight to Manhattan, and paying for the train rather than taking cabs! I think it's a great idea for convenience and for their economics.

I've read something similar to that, but instead having a "LaGuardia Airtrain" linking LGA to the N/W at Ditmars Blvd. or Astoria Blvd.

The MTA is already $24 BILLION in debt. Do not encourage them. The bus is fine to LGA and if you have $20 take a cab. I have taken a cab from Harlem to LGA and it is only $20 with tolls and it took exactly 12 minutes from 125 and 5th ave.

Don't worry about that. That's one of the MTA's strong points, not hesitating to cancel any project they thought up.
