Default GW Bridge Into New Jersey

Can anyone give me some realistic expectations regarding traffic heading into New Jersey from the GW bridge?

Realistically, look up public transportation. Google Metro-North for their schedule. The GW Bridge is never slow. I've gone across the bridge at 11 at night and been stuck in traffic. During commuting hours it is hell and misery. Just getting to the bridge is a nightmare.

There is no toll going from NY to NJ.

Going from NJ to NY, backups can take an hour, get EZ Pass.

It's all about timing, but even that is a crap shoot. There have been times when I've been sure it would take forever and it was quick and time when it worked the opposite. In my experience it's been an easier journey when coming up the west side, rather than coming from the Deegan/rt95 etc., and I'm usually taking the lower level to get to the Palisades.
