Default Very Cool Free Events/Plays at all NYC Parks

In case you did not know, there are a variety of organizations that provide free events, plays, shows, etc at NYC parks. The link below will take you to the website, and on the upper right hand corner you can put in the name of a park, and it will come up with the list of activities/events that are upcoming. Upcoming Events : New York City Deparment of Parks & Recreation As an example of the kind of plays/shows that are available, I will be seeing the "must see" play "The Toilet" at St. Mary's Park (Mott Haven) on Wednesday, August 13. It is a bit on the "alternative" side to say the least...but it is something very different so I'll give it a shot. A blanket, a bottle of wine, and my doggie should make a very nice evening! CityParks Theater: New Federal Theater performs The Toilet Wednesday, August 13, 2008 8:00 p.m. Bronx The Toilet, written by Amiri Baraka and directed by Rony Clanton, is a riveting play that chronicles what happens when a young homosexual boy sends a love letter to the leader of a school gang. Set in the bathroom of an urban high school, the play has been described as “shockingly scatological” and describe the themes of marginalization, self-hatred, and love that are so often threads of Baraka’s work. Location: St Mary's Park: Saint Mary's Street, Saint Ann's Avenue, East 149th Street, and Jackson Avenue
