Thank you all for your help. I'm not sure how much we will spend on a Hotel but I will check into all that you recommended! We are doing this for my daughters Sweet 16. I thought this would be a different way to celebrate her 16th Birthday by taking a couple of friends and go shopping in NY.. what 16 year old girl doesn't like to shop??

Some of the Best Westerns have decent rates, both in the city and outer boroughs and close-in New Jersey. The President and the Seaport Inn are good in Manhattan, and there are others in New Jersey close to transit in Hackensack, which is not too bad of a commute.

Have a great trip! I am sure it will be a memorable birthday for your daughter.
