Since this is a Cop related thread, let me say that I just saw something funny out of my window. 2 cops on bikes(must be rookies)or maybe trying to save on gas?one is ahead of the other, the 2nd guy who is somewhat overweight struggles up my block(slight incline)so I hear the sound of the bikes chain becoming disengaged,he almost falls off the bike as he is pedaling but his bike isn't moving forward, lol.
After a few minutes passes by his partner fixes the chain on his bike,he had his bike upside down on the street near the corner. You would figure that riding a bike is something one would learn before they are 8 or 9 yrs old.

LMAO! Good point. NYPD especially always expected a heavy discount since they got paid so bad.

Not necessarily true for all of NYPD. I've gone out with buddies that's on the job that will go to a bar and have a good time. When the bill comes up, they will determine if the bartender at least brought back ONE drink for them. If so, the bartender usually gets a very GOOD tip. If not, we usually leave a fair tip. It's not about the salary that's earned by a cop, it's about the service. I'm sorry, but it sounds like the cops that your talking about are P.O.S. (Pails Of S...) regardless of career, salary earning, etc.
