I think instead of worrying about an "upcoming" earthquake. We should be worried about tonight and tomorrow's snow storm. Well not worried but preparing ourselves.

"Total snow accumulation of 10 to 14 inches." according to wunderground.com

Can it really be true that I'm the only person in New York City who remembers when it wasn't really winter unless we had five or six snowstorms with at least a foot and a half of snow each time...or stretches of at least two weeks where the temperatures didn't get much past ten degrees?

If we really do get as much as 12 inches of snow in this alleged storm, well, so what? I can never understand why the media around here gets so bent out of shape about a little snow. We used to be able to handle this sort of thing...why is it a virtual crisis nowadays?

Then again, if you can sue somebody because you spilled hot coffee on your lap and then say there wasn't a printed notice on the cup, I'm probably not living in the same world I grew up in!

Default Just ride it out baby!

I'm from Calif and have always enjoyed earthquakes.....unless of course there is massive damage and loss of life....then it just ruins your day!

Bummer. I thought that was one thing I didn't have to worry about! Might as well move to LA. At least they get great weather with their earthquakes.

I remember taking the J train over the Hudson in 1969 and seeing it FROZEN! When's the last time that happened?

The only other time I saw that was over the winter of 1995. I'm not sure if the ice in the East River was thick enough to walk on...but it was pretty close! (You probably saw the East River frozen in 1969 too--the only reason I think so is that the J train doesn't cross the Hudson.)
