Nah, strictly salsa and just a little bit of merengue for me, though I saw a nice bachata group at Orchard last month. I think their name is Extreme or something like that? 2 young boys, a light skinned and a moreno, around 18 -- quite talented singers. I hear their songs all the time on la mega. As for merengue I saw Groupo Mania perform at one of their free summer festivals in the square when I was in PR and I really enjoyed that. They were really good.

I'm going to quote a song lyric by N'Klabe "I love Salsa" :

Mientras haya gente joven que entonen esta canción
Siempre vivirá la salsa en cualquier generación
A mí me gusta el merengue, la bachata, y el reggaetón
Pero el sabor que tiene mi salsa la llevo en corazón
I LOVE SALSA!

Expresses how I feel about this

I absolutely love Bachata. Easily my favorite genre. Kudos to you for mentioning it. I think its the most popular genre in Latin America nowadays (also reggaeton is pretty big).

I also love reggaeton and merengue/mambo. I dont like salsa all that much, maybe a couple of songs. I listen to Hip-hop and rock on occasion.

smooth jazz

It soothes my soul.

I also listen to "easy listening" and once in a while classical and opera.
