I took them both... I took the FDY exam first... So I would say that would be the first one to be given again since DCAS has to give them every four years

FDNY Firefighter
Apply: We anticipate the next open competitive exam will be held in January 2011, with the filing period to be held in late summer/early fall 2010. Check our website frequently for updates.

DSNY
The current Sanitation Worker list from civil service exam # 6063 was established on Feb. 20, 2008 and will expire on Feb.19, 2012. Presently, the last appointment was list # 484.
Im sure they will be giving this one shortly after the FDNY exam

There are a lot of other factors and nothing is official as of yet...

Well since today is a Sunday that maybe the case. Keep in mind we did get a lot of snow, pedestrians are walking in the street. The plows came on my block about a couple of hours ago. I saw what looked like a tanker truck with DSNY colors plow the street. I think it's one of their fuel trucks.

I know better then to go out and drive today, way too many people out there who don't know how to drive in this type of weather.
