Mayor Bloomberg's warning on Gov. Paterson's proposed $134B budget: It will cost city 18,500 jobs

Worse case scenario, I doubt it would ever reach that point. I think it is nothing more then scare tactics.

Deac39: It mentions Sanitation cuts in the article.

How do you cut curbside pickup by a third?? Do they want the rats to take over the city??

now if that hAppens maybe they would layoff a bunch of guys....totally cut cleaning MLP,HANDBROOM, MB....and to cut a third i guess they would only pick up the route one or twice a week instead of 2 to 3 times a week idk how you can cut curbside a third lol....so watch out for cutting routes and routes getting split up.... taking a half route and dividing it up and giving it to three routes as extra lines...

Anything is possible ....but by threatening cuts on the most powerful unions that lobby in the legislature Bloomberg is giving himself as much leverage as possible.

i dont see them hiring anymore from the current list with all the problems we have so best case scenario is they expand the list passed 2012 but what are the chances of that happening.this sucks for people like me who are waiting and are high on the list also

they havent even gotten passed the top 1,000 theres too many firsts going on economy wise list wise etc etc.. just one big old waiting game thats definatly being to prolonged for my own liking...
