You can get way nicer apts for the money out here. As far as socially, The people in Cali dont value friendships like they do in the East Coast.Thats what I've noticed.

You are right. They invade NYC's threads in the General US forums while we leave theirs alone... They're jealous, they're insecure.
Go to the Los Angeles forum and you will see a lot of New Yorkers asking for advice about moving to Cali. So L.A. threads get invaded by new yorkers too! But anyway...who cares!! This thread is getting pretty childish anyway with the "they're jealous of us" type comments!!!!!

And why do you think people love CA? It's because of the media too!! The illusion of LA and why people love it is mostly b/c of the media. What the hell is the difference between than and the media driven image of NYC?? Same thing.

Future cop is right, the East creates more rounded people, in the west (So Cal) the vast majority of people care only about money and due to this fact they come up short in personalities which is why many people over here are corny, have poor social skills, or are ignorant and odd.
Maybe you should take a look in the mirror b/c that's a pretty damn ignorant thing to say yourself. And to say people in CA only care about money, especially compared to NYC (the center of capitalism and Wall St) is pretty much a joke, especially considering this comment someone left on a post above:

But let me give credit to were its due, even though Compton, Inglewood, Watts, and others city's get a bad rap, for the most part this is where I found the LAST of the REAL cool people... Yea, its ruff and dangerous over there and its no place to raise a family but over time many people that have helped me in my life came from those areas or other ruff areas in L.A. They don't care you make money or not over there because they know WE are all in this same S$$T.. But, take your butt to any of the hills, and if you don't have a AMG Benz your not welcome.... Its got to be an AMG model..lol
You are judging the entire state of CA based on your small experience with just Los Angeles. There is a hell of a lot more to this state than LA and much of it is very different.

Californians DO NOT think about people in other states at all, I'm not even sure where you got that absurd assumption from. Californians have always done things their own way and others tend to follow, people here could care less what the rest of the country thinks of us.

As we speak, East Coast rappers are being bashed on Youtube by random people from the West Coast...

Examples...
"pac's better yo f**k the east side, wesuyeed!"
"f**k new york yo wesuyeed!"
etc...

Look up Pac's music on Youtube and nobody from the East Coast even says a word. It's obvious that people on the West Coast care a lot more than people on the East Coast. Pac dissed Biggie in almost every song, Biggie brushed Pac off. Here's my proof... The questions they ask Biggie and Lil Ceasar about East Coast vs. West Coast (Tupac) start at about :50 or so... The title says "Dissin Tupac" but nowhere in that interview did they diss anybody from the West Coast or Tupac (who's originally from NY)... Enlighten yourself...

Honesty is not childish.

PS If you hung around the General US section at all, you'd understand more.

WHO CARES what rappers do? I'm talking about normal, everyday working people and NOT rappers or people obsessed with rap. They don't represent the majority of people at all. That whole west coast vs east coast rap feud is so stupid and overplayed and 98% of the country could care less about what rappers think or do. Once you get out of high school you hopefully realize how few people actually care about rap.

No it IS childish and the comments on the US General forum are even more childish and off the wall.

How do you know this?

But YES, logic sense tells me Californian's and the rest of the nation DO think of New York, since it's plastered all over the news 24/7. What have you been seeing on the news for the past week?

I'm a California native and live here and nobody ever brings up NY except for the New York and Northeast transplants.

What makes you think that we do think about NY? Just b/c you THINK we think about NY does not make it the case or true at all. I don't understand why some of you New Yorkers want the rest of the nation and CA to think about you guys and actually tell yourselves that we do when we are more concerned with our state and what goes on here like most people across this country are with their respective regions.

What has been going on in this news with Wall St has little to do with NY and a lot more to do with this nation as a whole, and that is what people are thinking about; the nation and where they live and not NY. CA is in the news and in the media all the time as well, it's the same thing.

First of all, I'm not a New Yorker. I have lived in Los Angeles though, and in my year there I don't think I've ever heard people actually discuss the State of California.

So by your reasoning , do Los Angelenos not care about California?

Your reasoning is flawed; just because we don't talk about something doesn't mean we don't think about it.
