Desco is on a distinguished road
Born in Brooklyn (Cypress Hills) but only lived there until I was ~4. Then off to Long Island until 8th grade. Had to move to Staten Island (father became the head of a city agency...so had to live in a borough) when I was ~14 and stayed in Staten Island through high school. After that was 4 years of moving around...from Oklahoma to Texas to Germany to parts of the middle east, then back to Germany, and then finally back to Staten Island when I was 22. Lived there for the past 3 years, but just got an apartment in the W.Village.

I was going to try to find a way to work in a story the part about getting into one little fight, and being relocated to Bel Aire by my mother, but I just don't have the energy right now...

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, lived in Madrid, Spain, and as small child, came to NYC, to what is considered now the East Village. From there, we moved to Brownsville, in Brooklyn, and we left BEFORE it became necessary to carry a 347 Magnum.

That took us to Jersey City by the Holland Tunnel, in New Jersey, where I almost died with the pollution.

Back to Park Slope, Brooklyn. And now!!!! we are fortunate enough to live near the ocean, where I can see the deer trying to eat my beautiful perennials, but I run out and chase them away!!!!! However, I am still in one of the 5 NYC's boroughs, and I LOVE IT.

Look at that! And they say NYC isn't diverse. As I look out my living room window in another part of the city, all I see/hear are fire trucks and ambulances racing by, followed by a squad car in a hurry to get the sarge his donut and coffee.

When I look through my bathroom window to get a backyard view, a passing pigeon squirts me in the face (and not with water), a cactus plant from my next door neighbor's terrace scratches me in the arm, and I can see the chef from the fast food Chinese restaurant on his back stoop cleaning his fish and shrimp - with the scent thrown in as a bonus.

Meantime, Rubies has deer, perennials, the ocean as a backdrop while she reminisces on her childhood in Sao Paolo and Madrid.

Wow, I love this great city!

My Dear Miles: You are sooooo funny. You do always make me laugh with your comments. Are you sure you want to be a writer, and not a comedian? Although you woud make more money with the latter?

I did once try to be a stand up comedian...problem was everybody in the audience also stood up...and left.

I love your analogies, and not only are you exceedingly charismatic and funny, but clairvoyant, as well. I am still laughing. Good-night!

That's funny, I might have to "borrow" that if I ever get the nerve to do something like that.
