I am so happy that I visited the twin towers the one time I visited LA.

Are you by chance referring to Minoru Yamasaki's Century Plaza Towers just off Olympic in Century City? The 44 story structures are reminiscent of his style, but are much smaller than the WTC towers were as they are not even 50 stories tall, but that is tall for Century City.

Wasn't this an episode of Seinfeld?

That is by far the funniest thing I've read on this forum.

You can still find your free car wash in the Bronx! Come on down next summer and take advantage.

I remember the Parachute Jump at Coney Island in its last couple of seasons of operation. My Dad offered to take me on that ride; I stood there looking up, up, UP...and I politely declined the invitation.

Grew up in Ozone Park in the 70's/80's. I still remember the knife truck coming to sharpen knives, as well as the trucks delivering olive oil, laundry bleach and Charles Chips to homes.
I also seem to remember a soda company that delivered glass bottles to homes, but can't think of the name. I think it was a local company.

They still have the knife truck. I hated that when I was little because I always thought it was the ice cream man, but nope, just the knife guy.

Speaking of TV shows and commercials, what about "Crazy Eddie", the electronics guy. I heard his business tanked and he ended up fleeing to Israel (?) Now, I need to look this up on Google.
