Harry Harrison was a morning DJ in NY during the 1960's. He would pretend he was zipping up the ladies dresses in the morning, getting ready for work, you'd hear the zipper sound and ladies saying, "Thanks Harry." Does anyone remember that bit?

I used to tape their hip hop shows back in the 80's on Friday and Saturday nights. That music was off the chain!

I'm not sure what channel its on but I have come across it surfing late night tv. They were the best for new Hip-Hop/R&B artists and Caribbean stuff.

It's a real shame that the hip hop stations don't really play any old school anymore. I can't stand this cr*p today. I'm not a huge hip hop fan and don't know all that much about old school hip hop, but at least play some of the classics! The classics I do hear are all remixes with new songs today and all that. Just play the song by itself lol

Remember the Big Blackouts (1965 and 1977)? I was a kid living in Rochdale Village when the first one happened. Rochdale has its own private power plant--I remember the rest of Queens going completely dark, and it was like we were on our own little, lighted island.

I was in high school in the '65 blackout. At the time we were living on the 12th floor with two dogs that needed to be walked....and carried back up the stairs. A memorable night!
