If you click the links on the Gothamist web site it brings up the location on the map thaat would not work here.
Contribute: Gothamist look at it

I really would love to revitalize the living conditions that many of these people are living in.. I don't know about the crime itself, but I'd love for some of the people in these neighborhoods to be living in areas that aren't deteriorating or falling apart. Let me also add, that I don't mean gentrification.. I would love for new residents to move in, but NOT in the way that gentrification causes, and I'm not a big fan of just building up condos everywhere to make people forget about what already exists in the area.

Yes, this has been a huge ongoing problem in Moorish (so called "Black"/latino/hispanic/native american indian) neighborhoods. We ALL need to do our part in uplifting fallen humanity. However, the TRUTH is that most Europeans don't have the attitude that you have. When they look into our communities all they see is dollar $ign$. The so called "African Americans" and Latinos/Hispanics are the biggest consumers on the planet. They (I, say WE) have no economic independence. Furthermore, 70% of fatalities in this city are committed by Moors against other Moors (real statistic). This brings sadness to my heart.
While I commend Europeans and ANYONE who is willing to work for the upliftment of fallen humanity, nothing is going to change until WE change ourselves first and it starts with KNOWLEDGE OF SELF. We went from the pyramids to the projects...now it's time to go back to the pyramids. The natural balance of nature is offset and in due time (by the will of Allah) thngs will be restored to it's natural order. The fathers and mothers of civilization, the ones who created mathmatics, medicine, biology, Khemistry and all things great should not be sleeping on the A train, cooking burgers in McDonalds or overflooding the cemetaries and penitentiaries. But I don't worry about these things too much because Allah has never forgotten us, we forgot Allah which caused us to fall from the throne of power into a state of sleep (mentally)...According to the texts, it is time for the sleeping giants to awaken and reclaim their RIGHTFUL place.

Yeah..a few blocks up.
180th and University doesn't look that bad, it's a little isolated.
179th and University is bad.

Last night I heard gun shots coming from one of the basketball courts in Rochdale, then about forty minutes later I heard more shots coming from Baisley Boulevard. No police came even though the 113th precinct is about 500 feet away which always happens. I guess it happened too late to be reported on Gothamist.

Sadly, most crimes go unreported.
