It's a rare blessing when BK has a semi-quiet weekend day. Props to Brooklyn!

Though I'm really not familiar with Corona, from what I've seen it's no surprise that it's considered one of the more shady areas of Queens. Harlem & the Bronx, damn. That's all.

Gentrification is all hype, NYC is still wild lol.

On a side note, my neighborhood had 2 shootings and a stabbing last week (on the crime map).

Harlem is not the worst neighborhood in NYC. Not by far.

It may not be fully gentrified, nor is it perfect, but it is definitely not the worst! Please stop the antics.

There are many horrible neighborhoods in Brooklyn and the Bronx that are not nearly as historically rich nor economically diverse as Harlem.

Ditmas Park (Flatbush). It was a stabbing on Caton & Malborough, a shooting on E. 18th & Church, and a serious assault on E.23 & Ditmas (although not technically Ditmas Park but it's 2 blocks away from me so it's still my neighborhood). I also know of someone who was shot at on Ocean Ave & Newkirk though it's not up there.

I just read the Gothamist map that last night there was a shooting on Gates & Marcy. I have over 20 family members that live on Quincy and Marcy which is directly around the corner. On their block, 95% of the Brownstones are very well maintained, people within the block all know each other, and everyone looks out. It is very quiet even on a summer evening. Kids are always outside playing, having a good time and LITERALLY one corner over there is a shooting. What if some of my elderly family members that live there and walk with canes were getting off the bus and walking past there as they do everyday? Would they have ended up like the lady in Coney Island last week? What if one of the kids happened to run around the corner after a ball and was hit by a stray bullet?

This is a perfect example of how Bedstuy is now. One block is quiet and the next one over people think it's a western movie.

LMAO...

The area of Harlem called St. Nicholas (the housing project & some of the surrounding blocks) is ranked #17 most dangerous neighborhood in the U.S.

Moderator cut: Rude I like when people pretend to know what they're talking about and really have no idea...it's really funny...seriously. If you don't know, just say you don't know. Why pretend that you're some kind of expert? Do you people get some kind of kick out of this? If you don't know then ask someone and then go do proper research to verify. Go to the neighborhood, walk around and talk to the people. Don't just assume because Bloomberg/Kelly said, "Oh, Harlem is safe now." that it's true. I mean c'mon, do you REALLY believe that? Moderator cut: Not necessary
