We want to visit the Restaurant under the Brooklyn Bridge, how can we get to it from Staten Island by car? Also, what is DUMBO, and what can I see there? Thank you,

I live pretty close to where you want to go. You want to take the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge to the Gowanus Expressway and then take the Gowanus Expressway to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (often called the "BQE"). You exit at Old Fulton Street, which is the exit BEFORE the entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge. This will put you right in the area where you're looking to go.
